About the Artist
Gem De Bustos is a contemporary Filipino artist based in Ontario, Canada, and a Marketing Coordinator by profession. A self-taught oil painter, her work reflects a deep connection to emotion, travel, and cultural experience.
After over a decade of global travel as a flight attendant, Gem transitioned to a full-time art practice in 2020, embracing motherhood and creativity as parallel journeys. Her paintings, often commissioned by clients worldwide, capture a balance of sensitivity and strength through expressive color and form.

With a background in Corporate Communications, Interior Design, and a recently completed Business Marketing course, Gem combines artistic vision with strategic insight. She is an active volunteer and board member of the Women’s Art Association of Hamilton and continues to exhibit her work in group shows, sharing her evolving perspective through vibrant, story-driven compositions.
